The Royal Wedding had us all enthralled last weekend, although to be honest I missed the live telecast and had to catch up online.  What impressed me most was the beautiful #MarkleSparkle, her glowy skin and airy gossamer play of colour that is so elegant and pure.  I loved that moment during the ceremony when she snuck a sideways glance at her husband, and the most genuine shy smile broke across her face.  That look really sang out to me in more ways than I can imagine, not least of which is how the transparency of it all is so on trend for this season.  Though it is rumoured that Meghan Markle wore Dior makeup, I am personally favouring Chanel’s take with the Éclat et Transparence Collection for Cruise 2018. Chanel recently launched a couple of base products that I’m loving immensely. Unlike their seasonal offerings, Chanel seems to have a practice of quietly releasing permanent products to very little fanfare (so different from their competitors!). I would have missed them completely if not for a very enlightening workshop which I attended recently. First up, Le Blanc de Chanel Multi-Use Illuminating Base is actually a relaunch of an existing product. Previously named Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base, the new product comes in a pump dispenser bottle (so much better!) but pretty much the same ingredients. It is a fluid primer base, which looks white when pumped out from the bottle, but disappears into the skin when applied. Not to be confused with the other Le Blanc Light Revealing Brightening Makeup Base, which comes with SPF30 and a plastic bottle with white cap. The Le Blanc de Chanel did not break me out unlike the other, and gives a more satin-matte finish. It smoothes out my pores and blurs away redness and undereye darkness, despite being otherwise invisible. It also helps hold my makeup and prevents shine from creeping out on my t-zone. I was caught by surprise when September crept up on me… it came and went just like that.  I have not been going out much, any trips out are mainly pick up and go.  Here in Singapore, they have sealed all the makeup testers so it feels rather pointless to browse.  Which is all to excuse my lack of seasonal updates.  Regardless, I love Chanel’s Les Beiges, and when I finally laid eyes on the pieces, I knew they were keepers regardless of the season or the current challenging times! Chanel Les Beiges has really grown up over the years, and become a line that I personally rely on for a naturally glowy healthy skin look.  This year’s release though small, capture the essence of that luxurious chic vibe perfectly.  My top pick is the Chanel Les Beiges Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid.  This is a liquid highlighter that is more flash than shimmer, and is beautiful worn mixed with your choice of base makeup or just over the high points of the face.  I imagine you can also use it on the legs to elongate or on the décolletage.  There are 2 shades available – a deeper more golden Sunkissed, and here […]
